We have a base established. And this blog set up for updates. Sleeping in cars and tents is over for now and we can set about achieving more substantial goals.
The situation on the ground is chaotic. The flow of refugees is increasing exponentially and major NGOs have not mobilised as yet. Volunteers, local and from afar, are streaming in to help but there is no structure, infrastructure, or coordination. We intend to help with that in the most efficient ways possible.
We have been busy establishing a contacts list, seeing who is here to help, what they can do, what they need, and making this information mutually available.
A major issue has been storage space for supplies. We have made progress by procuring storage space and have started the flow of medical and essential supplies from the UK for use at the border.
